The process parameters of metal 3D printing include laser power, spot size, scanning speed, scanning line distance, layer thickness and so on:
1. Laser power: Refers to the total energy emitted by the laser in a unit of time, is one of the important parameters affecting metal 3D printing.
2.Spot size: Refers to the diameter of the focused laser beam, whose size can be fixed or edited, depending on the focusing system of the machine.
3.Scanning speed: Refers to the speed at which the spot moves along the scanning vector over the powder bed, determined by the spot distance and exposure time of the modulated laser system.
4. Scan line distance: Refers to the spacing between adjacent scan vectors to allow for a certain degree of remelting of the previous weld pass, thus ensuring complete coverage of the area to be melted.
5. Layer thickness: Refers to the depth of each new powder layer to be melted.
Other process parameters include: Powder properties, laser energy density, scanning strategy, atmosphere protection, preheating temperature, and post-treatment process.
