Stainless steel is very common in the production of a material, the consumption of stainless steel plate has increased year by year with the continuous expansion of China's stainless steel market , thin-walled stainless steel plate has also penetrated into a variety of manufacturing areas, so the welding of thin-walled stainless steel plate has become an important process in manufacturing, but the welding process characteristics of the thin-walled stainless steel plate itself determines the difficulty of its welding presence.

The problems that are difficult to control as to thin stainless steel welding machine include weld through and deformation. Due to the fact that the constraint degree of the stainless steel thin plate is small, thin stainless steel plate does local heating or cooling, thus forming uneven heating and cooling.The weld product will produce uneven stress and strain, the longitudinal shortening of the weld seam on the edge of the thin plate pressure exceeds a certain value, that will produce more serious wavy deformation, affecting the shape quality of the workpiece.

In general, the main ways to solve the burn-through and deformation of stainless steel sheet welding include:   

(1)Strictly control the amount of heat input to the welded joint, select the appropriate welding method and process parameters (mainly welding current, arc voltage and welding speed);  

(2)Assembly size is to strive for accuracy, interface gap is as small as possible. A slightly larger gap is easy to burn through, or is easy to form a large weld tumor;  

(3)Need to use fixtures whose clamping force balance evenly. The key to welding stainless steel sheet include: strict control of the linear energy of the welded joints, and strive to complete the welding premise to minimize heat input, thereby reducing the heat-affected zone to avoid the appearance of the above defects.

Stainless steel sheet using argon arc welding deformation can not be avoided, only can use segmented step-back welding method. The use of current should not be too large and heating time of the plate needs to be shortened as shortly as possible, so that the plate can be deformed to a very small. As to stainless steel sheet laser welding, 0.1MM can be welded.As to the laser spot size arbitrary adjustment, it can be controlled well. Deformation does not exist. Laser welding machine is undoubtedly a better choice to solve the thin stainless steel sheet welding!
