Laser welding is an efficient and precise welding method which adopts a high energy density laser beam as a heat source. Laser welding is one of the most important aspects of the application of laser material processing technology.In the 1970s, laser welding technology was mainly used for welding thin-walled materials and low-speed welding and welding process belongs the heat conduction type. Heat conduction type means the laser radiation heats up the surface of the workpiece, and the heat from the surface spreads to the interior through heat conduction. By controlling parameters such as the width, energy, peak power and repetition frequency of the laser pulse, the workpiece is melted to form a specific molten pool. Due to its unique advantages, it has been successfully used in precision welding of micro and small parts.
